Growth Gateway helped GoCab prepare for upcoming raises
With GoCab I can work with peace of mind, I know where I am going every day and my family no longer lacks what they need, each day brings me closer to my goal and I know that in three years the car will be mine
Serge
GoCab Driver, Abidjan

Serge’s story
Before GoCab
Serge, a ride-hailing driver, rents an outdated, unreliable taxi each day—with no path to build credit, no health benefits, and constant risk of losing income if the car breaks down
After GoCab
After switching to GoCab, Serge’s take home pay increased by ~120%, whilst driving a new vehicle and receiving benefits such as health insurance, fuel financing and maintenance discounts
GoCab’s impact
GoCab’s low cost, drive-to-own vehicle financing lowers barriers to entry for ride hailing jobs, whilst increasing daily income and ensuring wealth generation via the transfer of assets post financing period

Challenge
Despite strong early traction and proof of concept with 1,000+ drivers in Cote d’Ivoire, GoCab lacked clarity on which markets to prioritise next and how to position its growth story for investors in a way that was both ambitious and credible.
The team needed a disciplined, data-driven view of realistic expansion pathways that could excite investors while demonstrating meaningful impact potential.
It was a real pleasure working with the SDA team over the course of the ~2 months, the insights provided throughout the process are going to be a big help to us moving forward
